Most AUTHENTIC Mexican Food outside of Mexico!!!! I've been to SO many Mexican restaurants of EVERY type and Tacos De Acapulco TOPS ALL OF THEM! No Kidding At All!! The Service is GREAT - SUPER nice people work there, all is homemade . . . man, tasty, tasty, tasty - this is the place to go if you want AUTHENTIC Mexican Food. If you want just the regular schmo-type Mexican food where they throw a couple of enchiladas, beans and rice on a plate, go to any other place, but for GREAT TASTING and truly authentic Mexican food and TRULY delightful people that work there, I HIGHLY recommend Tacos De Acapulco!! I eat there all the time. If I don't, I buy to take out and eat at home since I live close by! You MUST go! (I mean, You GOTTA give it a try, it's the BEST of the BEST!!!)

This is our go to spot for Mexican food when we want order at the counter style. You put in your order to the cashier and then when it's your "time" the guy calls you up to finish making your food. Sometimes the carne asada has fatty pieces, which I don't like. Overall is pretty good though and we keep coming back. They have a wide range of menu choices and I don't think I've tried anything that wasn't good. For the most part I think it's mostly local people here because it is off the beaten path. Prices are average to a little high.

I walk away and open it and the only way to eat it is suck it up like a animal !! I take it back and tell the 2 ladys I can't eat it I don't want to ware it ! HaHA that's when they give me a long , dirty look Like i made this mess !! I don't need to return ! Everyone has a bad day ! BUT these lady's both were having one at the same time !!!!! trying to give me one too! I left with a smile on my face , why because I not a fool and don't need to eat here again HaHaHa !!!

One of my favorite places for Mexican food in south county. They have everything and it is all made fresh. More of a walk up bar style and no table service here but the food in this place is fantastic. You have to stop in here if your in the area. You won't be sorry!

    (4)
  • Chris G.

Carne asada taco bowl was delicious. The shell was crunchy and still hot from the fryer. The steak had tons of flavor that brought me back to Mexico! I always recommend this place to all my friends and frequent here often.

First time for us, we're spending a month in Pismo Beach and needed some place to fill our Mexican food cravings. Followed the reviews and were not disappointed. The food was good, the service was quick and the price was reasonable. We'll be back.

    (5)
  • Jeff B.

Hands down... THE BEST mexican food spot in the county. Pretty unassuming and in a little strip mall the price is right and the food is made right in front of you kind of like a subway where the guy asks what you want and how much of it your want. Start a load of laundry next store and chomp on some carne asada, you wont regret it!

  • Angela I.

Got a carne asada burrito. Flavor was good! My friend got a big piece of bone in her burrito but other than that our trip here was fine. They take your order then call you up about 10 minutes later then ask how you want your food. A little weird but they're quick to make it. Their green sauce is made with avocado so it was a little different but good. They're a bit stingy with their salsa, gotta keep asking for more but I would go back if needed

  • Lacey T.

Great hole in the wall Mexican place! Definitely a goto... Started going as a teenager and continued! The food is consistently good, you know what they ate doing because you can see them make everything. I live the pollo verde and carne asada... The tortillas are fresh made and delicious.

Safe to eat- my belly tells me right away when it's questionable food or preparation. Deliciousness factor: 6 out of ten Speediness: 7 out of 10 Prices: Pretty close to average Cleanliness: (Possible ratings: wow, pretty good, okay, fair-iffy and yikes) So, pretty good from the customer vantage point. Although food preparer does not wear gloves, they haven't scratched themselves in the questionable zones. Overall value: pretty fairly good (hedging my bet) As far as ability to sate the craving for Mexican food: Pretty fairly not bad : )

  • Sumeena B.

This spot is a lifesaver when you are hungover. They make burrito's quickly. Absolutely nothing special - beans, rice, watery guacamole, mild salsa (the habanero salsa isn't spicy either), and the chicken asada is pretty decent. The chips are good. The horchata is sugar-y goodness.

This place is always good! Breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Only place to get Mexican food on the central coast!

I'm a Southern California girl, and I've had my fair share of legit mexican food. From Ventura county to San Diego, I've sampled a number of places that serve authentic mexican food. Having moved here a few months ago for work, my coworkers kept hypebeasting this place up saying they have the best burritos in town. Really? How good can their burritos be? Ok, I decided to try it out and get myself a carne asada burrito. As soon as I bit into this bad boy, it's like Pandora's box was opened. Despite how full I feel (I'm actually eating as I type this out), I don't want to stop eating!! I honestly don't mind sitting here at the dinner table for an hour just so I can finish this burrito. I'm not a big eater, but this is the exception. The sauce is not too spicy and the carne asada tastes like nothing I've ever tasted before, and that's a good thing! My tummy is happy.

Tacos De Aculpulco , of course their is a line right now (their always is) but none the less I would say delicious food is A bit of a wait but worth it. Real food for great prices. Simply delicious. Remember if your food was served in less than 5 mins it probably wasn't Real as in home made, made from scratch, with love ect point is once you come here you will wait for how ever long just to eat here again. It's that bomb. I'm here as we speak eating a carnitas burrito ;-) crazy this is my first yelp I downloaded the app just to review this place!

  • Tim T.

Love this place. The burritos are so amazing, they make it very quick and it's quite affordable. I usually take it to go though, the seating area is okay.

  • C. L.

My favorite place to grab a burrito on the Central Coast. Quick, consistently delicious, always hits the spot :)

    (5)
  • Joshua J.

Really good, really fast. I get a burrito here about once a week. I love their lengua. Their verde, colorado, and regular chicken are all good too - though, my favorite is the verde. Decent horchata as well.

  • Phil R.

9am. Ordered three tacos. I'm the only and first customer 920am still no food. Wtf? I guess you're on their time...

    (1)
  • Madeline H.

Nothing special, typical Californian mexican food. The guacamole is really runny/watery. Burritos are usually wrapped half assed. Most of the workers are friendly.

    (2)
  • Emily M.

So I found this place pretty good. A pretty small place with not a whole bunch of seating but a good amount. I admit when I first arrived to this place, I was a little hesitant to go inside. The people are nice, and the food is okay, but even the mild salsa seemed way too spicy for me. The burrito was quite large, so large that i was unable to finish it. Though the chips were absolutely delicious. Very fresh hand still warm. I was quite happy with those chips. Over all, my experience was good but not quite the place for me.

    (4)
  • Tyler A.

Best Mexican food in town by far.

    (5)
  • L B.

A Mexican restaurant that actually serves authentic Mexican food? No way! That can't be possible! Well it is. Tacos de Acapulco made the impossible possible! Congrats! You did something a national chain can never achieve! Your prize is a loyal customer!

  • Amber S.

I really wanted to like this place after reading some reviews. When we walked in it seemed like any other small restaurant. Floor was clean but the tables were not. I ordered chicken taquitos, my daughter the natchos, and my husband the chimichanga. We also ordered chips and salsa (which is separate, does not come with your meal). Chips and salsa were minimal at best, greasy, and hard but the salsa was flavorful. When we got our orders they look really yummy and we were ready to dig in. My taquitos were not great. Very bland and the chicken was tough, and they were cold :(. My daughter started eatting hers and was pleased until she took a huge bite of fat in the beef, then another, and another. She just stopped eating it. I tried some of her natchos and although the flavor is pretty good we had alot of fatty meat. My husband seemed to be pleased with his burrito, no complaints from him. We probably won't be back :(

    (2)
  • Leean P.

Very fresh and homemade . I had chicken chimichanga so big you could share it . Others had shrimp burrito stuffed full great portion . This is a great place staff was friendly and welcoming , will be back for sure .

  • Jason F.

So, in review of Tacos De Acapulco I would have to say with the enchiladas everything seemingly is canned. The tacquitos were devoid of flavor, and the meat on the carne asada taco smelled gamey so I did not eat it. For those yelpers who have commented that this is the best food they have had mexican wise I seriously do not know where they have been their whole lives. There are so many better spots. All three items we ordered were the same just passable. Not good and the beef for the carne asada definitely questionable. I will not be going back. Burrito Loco is a much better choice in the local area.

    (1)
  • Tereece G.

Its taken us 3 months to find a place that does yummy nacho's. This place DOES yummy nachos! Their chimichanga's were good too!

    (4)
  • Abigail T.

Best tacos and burritos! Actually everything is amazing! Great authentic Mexican food!

    (5)
  • Marie C.

Absolutely outstanding authentic Mexican food. My favorite is the vegitarian burrito but my husband swears by the carne asada burrito. Plan on a wait on a weekend whether it's for breakfast lunch or dinner it's that good buts it's so worth it. Not much on ambiance but who cares. If it bothers u take it home or have a beer relax and enjoy your food amigo!

    (4)
  • Louis C.

Hey, I'm not a Mexican food aficionado, but this place is my top choice for a chicken burrito. It comes stuffed with all the usual fixin's, and is prepared quickly by the chef. They wrap this big guy real tight so it doesn't spill out all over your lap. Fast, tasty, and priced well-what more could you want?

    (5)
  • Sonny E.

This place is pretty close to authentic. When you can't thoroughly understand the workers' English, then you know you're in for a good meal. I took a group of 4 Chinese tourists to this place for their first samplings of REAL Mexican food - they were not disappointed at all! The chips & salsa is what I loved best...so simple, so cheap, yet soooo da bomb!

    (4)
  • Lorean W.

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food--my fella loves it though, so we eat it more often than I normally would... and this is my neighborhood spot! Clean, quick and friendly service, fine portions, I can't complain! Also the best solution to a wicked mid-week hangover.

    (5)
  • Jake W.

Best Mexican food in the country and a fantastic staff as well. I go there every week and am kindly invited by the service and once my food is received, I am wowed as always. I highly suggest and recommend this restraint to anyone in the mood for good cuisine.

  • Nina M.

To start off, I yelped the place & came here due to the good ratings. I feel the Yelp community has let me down this time. 1) The staff was unfriendly. The employees' children were running loose around the restaurant, playing with all the utensils (love kids, but I don't want their germs on ALL the utensils) and being really loud. The employees simply ignored them. 2) My burrito was grossly over-salted & came unraveled almost immediately upon being picked up so I had to eat it with a knife and fork like a douche. It was okay... 3) There were no chips and no salsa bar...I guess this is something I've come to expect with an ~8$ buritto

  • Dooozie W.

Doesn't look like much when you see it from outside. But was pleasantly surprised on the inside. We ordered the special nachos and shrimp fajitas. Both were great. The shrimp was grilled as were the veggies. Both were delicious. The nachos were huge and tasty. Everything was fresh and authentic. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was very busy with more and more people coming in all the time we were there. Next time we will order the famous burritos we hear so much about.

  • Cole J.

This place is the bomb for Mexican food. This place is a small family owned business and everyone is friendly. The price is low and the food is just the best. Don't go in expecting fine dining though. What your getting here is a noisy and sometimes very crowded place but it's all for a good reason and it somehow adds to the charm of the place. You place your order then when your number is up you get to tell the cook what you want on your taco, burrito, or what ever you order. I have to go here at least twice a week. Enjoy!

My favorite place to go!! Sooooo good! And the girls are super nice. Never ever a bad time. Ever.

  • Chris S.

I was surprised I hadn't written a review yet for as often as I come here! Fantastic burritos! Breakfast and regular! Their tortas suck which is why I ALWAYS get an xl chicken verde burrito! Well worth it!

  • Andrew R.

This place has great carne asada and awesome nachos. Pretty much everything is awesome. The wait can be a little long at times but it's totally worth it. Beginning to know everyone that works here because I come here so much haha

I love this place the chicken chile verde is soooo good try the nachos so good I love how they put sour cream and guacamole on everything!!!!

Pretty good food but nothing spectacular. Fast service. A little dirty but if you like the hole in the wall Mexican restaurants you have to be used to that.

  • James M.

I ate here for the last time today and am sad. This used to be my favorite place to eat Mexican food. I used to eat here at least 3 times a week. The service has gone downhill the last month or so. The last few times we went it was so dirty and every table was empty and dirty. Both times 2 female employees were just standing at the register talking to each other. There was no smile when I was greeted. The quality of food was less also. The meat was not diced small like usual. I will say the regular guy who makes the food is awesome but he was not there the last few times. I would just get to go and avoid the disgusting tables if the food was as good as before. Also when I did see the employeeclean the table a week or so ago when I was there she used window cleaner and not sanitizer.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MEXICAN PLACE IN THE 5 CITIES. I'm a vegetarian, so you know, I don't get to take advantage of the full menu. But for what it's worth. I love this place.

    (5)
  • Ursula G.

Decent food, but not amazing, and kind of on the pricey side. $8 for a burrito should mean easily the best burrito ever, if it was cheaper I'd give it more stars... but for those prices I expect better quality. Mostly come back here out of convenience.

  • Sarah W.

MY now husband took me here for our first date and I almost died over how good the food was I need to go back over and over It is amazing I would definitely recommend it to people I am crazy over their burritos now with a baby on the way I am sooo craving their food like crazy I RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO YOUNG COUPLES AND EVEN OLDER COUPLES THIS PLACE IS TRULY SPECIAL and they always serve with a smile

  • Kenneth M.

The most consistently good burrito you will find on the Central Coast. Whenever I meet a tourist, I tell them that this is the place they should go for a quick and inexpensive lunch. The burritos, tacos, menudo, and nachos are the best around. Their enchiladas and tamales are not up to par with some of the other places in the county, but the other food items should be why you are coming here once a week for your fix. If you like your food a little spicier, then ask for the habanero sauce instead of their normal salsa. The family who owns the business have always treated me, my family, and friends with the best in customer service. I cannot recommend this place any higher for the quality you can expect every time you go. If you judge your Mexican food establishments on their Carne Asada burritos, then this is tops on SLO County.

    (5)
  • D N.

Grover divey delicious. Again, 1970's-80's Mexican fare. You're not going to get anything fancy and you're really not going to get service. If you speak Spanish you'll probably rate it 4 stars because jueros seem to get slightly less service. It's late. You're hungry. You're feeling cheap. Go here. You have some time to research a decent meal. Everything's open. You just got paid. Go somewhere else.

Don't let the Subway style assembly line for your meal fool you. I came here with some friends who live in Arroyo Grande (AG for you locals). One can never be sure which meats are the best at a Mexican restaurant so when my friend's husband ordered the Carne Asada burrito, I followed suit. One of the few times that I will admit that it pays to be a follower and not necessarily a leader. The carne asada was delicious. There were quite a few menu items that looked enticing but I played it safe. My friend ordered the chile relleno burrito which was rather unique but she was willing to share a bite and I can attest to it's delicious properties also. Unassumingly tucked into a shopping center, this is the type of a place where locals go because no one else would know its here. Help for newbies: when you walk in, walk to the cash register and order. Then sit down and wait for them to call out your order (not your name so pay attention). Walk back up the counter and they will assemble your meal right in front of you. If you want sour cream, don't forget to ask otherwise it won't make it on your food. Also, if you are getting a burrito, asked to get it wrapped in tin foil so it won't fall apart. It is stuffed to the max with Mexican goodness from onions, cilantro, rice, beans, and meat (carne asada).

My stepson's fiance turned me on to this place, which I visited last week for the first time. My favorite food is MexiCajItalianEse, so I consider myself well-versed in those areas. I had three soft tacos, two of which were in a #3 combo. One was pollo asada, another pollo verde and the third carnitas. I thought that would give me an idea of what their meats were like. My wife had two hard-shell chicken (asada) tacos, which she considered "dry." I got all the garnishes except crema on mine. Mine were flavorful and moist. the refried beans are soupy, so as a side they leave something to be desired, but when added to any of the offerings, they add flavor. The carnitas was very moist and tender, not overdone and stringy like many Mexican places I've been. The verde was very good and I liked the asada, but had all the trimmings, so it was very moist. The place is apparently known for their burritos, which will be my next adventure. The lady in front of me in line ordered a chicken taco salad, which was "to the brim" with all the chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, etc., etc. It looked very good. There are several tables, if you wish to dine in, but I took mine to go. The place was crowded with both hispanics and gringos, so I figured it would be good and it was. To the reviewer who thought Taco Bell was better.....Pish Posh! Tacos acapulco is now in my phone and is on my to-do list when visiting the central coast. I recommend the place highly.

Best burritos in town!!! Favorite is the pollo verde. Have been there probably 45 times and the food is very consistent, never a bad experience. Always take it to go because the atmosphere isn't very comfortable, they continuously play Telemundo on tv and sometimes there are creepy guys hanging out. I don't drink coca cola myself but I have heard from a couple people that theirs is extra good, more sweet or something.

I was raised in Bakersfield so I base my opinion on some of the really good restaurants there. Ordered chili rellenos, rice and beans. I guess they do the specialty cooking in the back and dress it up in the front. The cook came out from the back with my chili rellenos wearing a hair net (which I appreciate) and asked if I wanted rice and beans and then proceeded to offer me any and all of the fixings. I had him put it all on top of my rellenos. Including cheese, onion, cilantro, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Restaurant was clean and cashier was nice and friendly too. Took my order to go and shared w/my room mate. We both loved it. We will return. Beans were a little "loose" but very good. Rice was very good too and super garlicy-which I love. I watched the cook make another patron's burritos and they look really good too. I recommend Tacos Acapulco

Love the food here! The burritos are huge and they make them in front of you.

I've lived in California my entire life and LOVE Mexican food. The Veggie burrito from Tacos Acapulco is, hands down, the best burrito in the world. I am deeply saddened that I live so far from Pismo Beach.

I love the chicken tacos here. I have never ordered anything else, but i am always tempted by the burritos. The beans are very good but a little to runny for me. The rice is really good, as are the chips. The salsa is good and spicy, i just prefer the chunky kind compared to the watery kind. Stop in here often and eat way more than i should since it's just that good.

They make their burritos with love. I have been pleased with everything I have eaten here. The pollo verde burrito must be my favorite. I have also had the head tacos, which are quite delicious. I know what you're thinking: "Head!!!" Ew, get your mind out of the gutter! It's probably cheek meat or something. Anyway, really tasty and tender. They have tongue, too, but I don't like the idea of my food tasting me back no matter how dead it is. I have papillae on my tongue, too, so it freaks me out. I did try it and it was also lovely. When I visit with my friend, they freaking know him and his order. They are nice people, reserved, but really nice. It's a place that gets a lot of locals. Ambiance: face it folks, it's a cafeteria, but who cares. BURRITOS MADE WITH LOVE! It's an order-at-the-counter, they call out your order so you can tell the gentleman or lady what you would like out of the magic food bins. You can eat there or take it to go. I'm addicted.

Best taqueria in the 5 cities. The puerco chili verde burrito is awesome. The al pastor tacos are addicting! I have loved everything I have eaten there.

This is my and my husband's favorite Mexican restaurant in Grover Beach. Great food at a reasonable price.

Our standard go-to when we want something quick and easy. My favorite are the Puerco Verde tacos but everything is good... and good value. I'm not giving this 5 stars because it's the best mexican food I've ever had but they are my favorite when comparing them to other places of the same style and price range.

My girlfriend and I came here to try the Carne Asada and Carne Ranchera Burritos. While the burritos themselves were super tasty and very filling, the hot sauce was amazing! We both loved it. It wasn't like a normal hot sauce where it was peppery, but it was also sweet and had good flavoring. Also, the workers were nice and people inside seemed friendly.

I love Mexican food! I currently live in San Diego, CA and you could imagine that they would have the best Mexican food...seeing that they are practically Mexico, but I still prefer my hometown, Tacos de Acapulco. They have the BEST burritos, that they make to order right in front of you. They are GIANT, and probably weigh over a pound. I am dreaming about a delicous carne asada burrito as I type this... insert drooling here

Good-anything carne asada, Better-tortas, puerco colorado tacos, Best-pollo verde burrito, bean and cheese burrito. They have the best beans around! Burritos are huge and delicious. Oh, and for breakfast, their homemade chorrizo is excellent.

Finding a Mexican restaurant that can fashion a good torta is tough. A good torta is nutritious, delicious, and filling all at the same time. Striking that balance is difficult. Tacos de Acapulco serves some amazing tortas; some are the best I've ever had in my life. Mouthwatering. The fries that can accompany the tortas are great too, way thicker than fast food fries. It may be more expensive, but it is definitely worth it. Great place to eat and hang out.

I love, love, love this place. I went to Cal Poly SLO and become completely hooked during my time there (multiple locations). When I come back to visit family they understand that I'm visiting them and Tacos Acapulco equally. I always get some form of veggie burrito. I've heard great things about the tortas' too. You can count on getting in, ordering and being served in under 10 minutes.

You gotta be kidding me. Yelp, ya steered me wrong with this one (a rarity). Lord knows there should be better Mexican food on the central coast. Every other establishment in the five cities area seems to be mexican. I ended up here looking for good food. The food was like something a gringo dreamed up. The enchilada had more of a weak tomato salsa on it instead of enchilada sauce. It was covered in jack cheese that they did not even bother to melt. The taco was a giant large machine made hard shell. The meat inside was fair. The beans were OK but the rice was rubbery. Taco Bell has more authentic Mexican food. I know Mexican food. I like Mexican food. This was not Mexican food. If you are looking for this, please look elsewhere.

Very popular Mexican restaurant which is off the beaten path. When I was in Grover Beach more often I'd eat here about once a week - if not more. The business is family owned, and they are always positive. They make the food quick and it always tastes good. I have heard rumors about people being sick, but I have never had an issue with that.

used to be my favourite place ever but the the staff seems to overcharge me when they feel like it sometimes.. bummer. the burritos are still excellent though if you don't mind forking out a little extra dough(:

Good authentic mexican. Very popular with the locals. Lots of Vegetarian choices (rare for mexican around here) for your picky friends. Friendly service. I like to grab a burrito here, a beer at the liquor store next door and head for the beach on a lazy afternoon. I have family that moved out of the area, and this is the one place they always have to eat at when they come back into town. The absolute best Al Pastor anywhere!

Depressing update: This place has made too many of my friends and family members sick....Sorry Tacos. Thanks for all the fond memories, but I must bid you Adios....que lastima. Seriously the best! They deserve 10 stars and a pat on the back. There is nothing on this menu that you could go wrong with, but if you really want to do something meaningful with your life, you'll get the burritos. It's build your own....it's build your own! The staff is great and the more you go in the more they treat you like you're family. Cannot say enough good things about this place!

We wanted dinner and we found this place. It was good because we were able to get food to go. The place was very slow. Also, I got a drink that I usually get at Mexican food places, but the drink was too sweet. I think it gave me the runs, too. If I came back to this place I would probably get something else. The burritos weren't that good. Next time I'll get a taco or something. The steak was tough.

This is probably the best Mexican food on the Central coast. When I was in San Jose, I would only really miss this Mexican food establishment from any other one that I could find up north. I would recommend any burrito, the nachos supreme, or one of the best carne asada tortas in town.

  • Tony A.

The Five Cities area is not wanting for Mexican restaurants; in fact it seems like there is one on every block. But none are as authentic, delicious and reasonably priced as Tacos de Acapulco. The food is made in front of you. For example, simply order whatever kind of burrito you want. When it's your turn, they will call you and you point to what you want in your burrito. The things are gutbusters and well worth the price. This is a locals restaurant that you must seek out while in the area.

Known by those in the know as "Tacos De" or "The De." This is an exceptional authentic Mexican food joint in Grover Beach. True to life. I consider myself to be something of a Mexican food aficionado, and this place is where it's at. A hidden gem. This is not a classy sit down restaurant, but more of a place to satiate a whimsical desire for seriously good food. The amenities are relatively spartan, but that is no indication of the quality of the food. ***For any who have been to Chico, Ca and have done the whole 5 & I thing, this Tacos De is owned by the same owners of that Tacos De.

Ordered tacos to go from here the other day. Best tacos in the 5 cities! And probably on the central coast, too. Rating is based on tacos and nothing else. After all, this is a tacos place. Some of you other yelpers are crying about enchiladas and Mexican food in general. Is it called "Enchiladas Acapulco"? Didn't think so.

The burritos here are possibly the best burritos anywhere. They're so good, I've never actually had anything else here. I've been coming here since high school and TdA still remains high on my list of favorite eateries in all the cities I've lived. Thank you, lord of burritos, for delivering this place to us. However, I'm determined to try a torta next time...

went with a trio of tacos (asada, al pastor, carnitas) and tried the chile relleno. the asada wasn't bad, the al pastor was greeeeaaaaasy, and the carnitas were less greasy but weren't very good, either. the tortillas felt a little too soft, as if they'd break. they garnish with salsa, onions, guacamole, cilantro, and jack cheese. cheap tacos, fairly large, but not very good. the chile relleno was pretty big, tons of cheese, but the breading was really soggy. came with a special sauce of its ow (chipotle?), but it was fairly bland. this place might be good for something, but it's not for tacos.

I loooove Mexican food! and ever since I've eaten here I find it hard to enjoy it any where else. I now live out of town and this is always the first place I go to when I return. I get a carne asada burrito almost every time and its never let me down.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
